The priority services register

This service is available free through your Gas and Electricity supplier and your local Water Company such as South East Water.

Check if you are eligible:

You are eligible if you:

  • Have reached your state pension age
  • Are disabled or have a long-term medical condition.
  • Are recovering from an injury.
  • Have a hearing or sight condition.
  • Have a mental health condition.
  • Are pregnant or have young children.
  • Have extra communication needs (such as you don’t speak or read English well).

You might still be able to register for other reasons if your situation isn’t listed. For example, if you need short-term support after a stay in hospital.

You can apply by contacting your energy supplier or water supplier either through their website or by phoning them. Care if you have a different supplier for gas and electricity you will have to contact them both. If you switch supplier you will need to register again.

During the past week, one of our Trustees had water delivered to his door and a phone call after an unscheduled power cut offering help if there were any problems.

Just Google “The Priority Services Register” if you want more information, but if not then sign up.

Taming My Temper Anger Management Course for Ages 11 – 18

Taming My Temper is a course which aims to support young people who have difficulties controlling their emotions by helping them to explore the ways in which they can reduce their levels of anger, and also the hostility that they display.

This course helps young people to look at the causes of negative emotional behaviour, and how this can lead to a young person feeling angry. Young people will also learn ways to minimize negative emotions – exploring alternative ways to cope and remain calm.

The goal of this programme is to help young people to better understand why they may feel a certain way, and to help them to manage the ways in which they want to respond to those feelings. ZOOM Social Group from Mid Kent Mind

Mid Kent Mind are delighted to share that we have self-funded a virtual Social Group taking place every Monday – providing a safe space and time where people can meet others and seek support for their mental health.

The aim of this group is simple – provide a safe and moderated space where we can provide support for people. It’s fair to say that times are still uncertain currently – and this means that many of us may find ourselves in need of a little bit of extra support. This is where this group aims to come in – providing a weekly wellbeing booster whilst also allowing you to meet new people and build new relationships.

For more details on our ZOOM Social Group, please visit: https://www.maidstonemind.org/zoom-social-group/

Please note you must register with Mid Kent Mind before attending this session – and you can do so by e-mailing mindhelp@midkentmind.org.uk.
