Me: The fusion café
Reply: oh a café, oh right what does this café do?
Me: coffee, CV’s drop in centre for help with money problems, housing, job search and youth clubs.
Reply: Not a proper agency then!
Me: erm…No

But actually they are more than that and really need to promote the level of support they do offer.
Here’s why…….

I remember that day like it was yesterday walking into your office, I had done that walk 2-3 times before I finally walked in the door. I was literally at rock bottom, I was mentally emotionally exhausted but knew I had to get help but where? You see I had tried other agencies, I didn’t fit the criteria for some, others I was too scared to try, some I had done but felt let down, disappointed and angry!
I was suffering with depression and anxiety I felt like no one understood me or took the time to listen to me like Sue did. She put my life in order one by one, she made me focus on what was important and to let go of what I can’t control, oh yes sue knew I had big issues of letting go of things but she never judged me of my reasons she just made me focus on something else. The Things I was struggling with or just too scared to face I had actually given up on because the lack of support and fear, Sue didn’t let me give up she just made me see it from a different point of view and deal with it when the timing was right. Every week even in lockdown sue still made that call to give me my next list of what was important of what I needed to focus on.
I finally went to the doctor and got medication because I was not scared anymore. I got help from other agencies for us as a family, my children got the support they needed because of the information advice she had given me. I did therapy and trauma therapy deep down I knew it wasn’t for me it felt like I had to go with it but at the same time I’m thinking these people didn’t know me, they had never meet me! I finally turned a corner my life was almost back on track but Sue still called me to check in with me and the children just to see how we were? Sue was the only person that actually asked that question throughout all of this!
Looking back I still can’t believe I did it I really did it! The real truth is Sue’s support and advice made it happen. I honestly cannot thank her enough she really did helped get my life back.
